Watercolor for babies

Get crafty! There's nothing better than a rainy afternoon spent dreaming up new and creative art projects. In an ideal world, parents wouldn't have to worry about the toxicity of the supplies.

For parents of young tots, who tend to put everything into their lil mouths, the artificial chemical dyes, petrochemicals, and other unknown ingredients found in paints, glues, crayons, and markers — despite bearing a nontoxic label — can be frightening. Unbeknownst to their parents and teachers, millions of children are exposed to these harmful contaminants on a daily basis.

Fortunately, there are safe alternatives. Companies like Wee Can Too Art and Clementine Art are committed to developing products that are eco-friendly and truly kid-safe. Unleash tots' creative side with these eco-friendly, nontoxic art supplies that are as gentle on the earth as they are on kids.

Water color for babies

We were so excited that Wee Can Too Edible Art Supplywas asked to be a sponsor at the San Francisco Birth and Baby Fair this year! The mamma's started lining up outside and Wee Can Too began the mission of babies and toddlers creating 'Art from the Start'. Many young parents were so thrilled with the concept of having their toddlers do their first finger painting and chalk drawings. Parent's number one complaint is that the first thing their toddler does is pick up chalk and eat it.

Our Organic Sidewalk Chalk Rocks! Coming in Veggie and Swirl watch out mom's and dad's these kids are painting and drawing the town. The floors at the Mason Center were black so children were able to draw and write directly onto the floor while using finger paints.

We always get the same questions when it comes to the organic art concept of food based art supplies. So is it tasty, can I eat the finger paints for a meal, and most important are the ingredients actually good for me. Our answer is always the same, we don't encourage children to eat their art, however as parents we realize that babies and toddlers put everything into their mouth so it should be safe and nutritional and we don't recommend parents or toddlers eating paints and chalk for meals but our products are food based using organic ingredients so if a toddler were to eat the paint 'its geared towards a babies diet in mind'.

San Francisco was a great experience and we don't get to see our creations in work often enough, so thank you to the parents, vendors, and the city for the warm welcome. As parents and as business owners we say thank you to a great city who understands the 'safe organic art' concept.

When Kaelyn was younger, she colored and painted like many children, but not as often as I would have liked. Not because I didn't want her to engage in these types of creative activities...but because she was constantly putting everything in her mouth! It made me nervous to think of what might be in these paints and crayons, which is why we only got them out when I was able to sit down with her without the distraction of cooking, cleaning, etc at the same time.

At nearly 4 years old now, she has outgrown that phase and has been for quite some time. She loves art and anything to do with writing, coloring, painting, etc. The hard part is...her younger brother is still very much in that "putting everything in his mouth" stage. And, when big sister is doing a fun art activity, he wants to take part too. I often have the same concerns as I did with her...that he's going to be putting paints and crayons in his mouth. That's why I was thrilled to learn that there's a solution so little ones can be included in the fun.

Wee Can Too began with a stay at home mom looking for a safer and more nutritious art product for her daughter. And, in 2007, Edible Art Supply was born. Knowing that everything ends up in an infant and toddler's mouth, this momma came up with a line of products made just for this natural curiosity and created products from ALL food-based organic ingredients. With everything from Edible Crayons, Edible Sidewalk Chalk, andNaturally Safe Fingerpaints...parents can relax knowing that Wee Can Too products make playtime non-toxic and worry free!

As a mom of two children, I was thrilled when introduced to this all natural organic art supply company. These food based art products are exactly what I've been looking for and needing since Kaelyn was a baby. I love the idea behind "Art From the Start" and the concept "if you can eat, you can paint". I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review their Edible Fingerpaints.

These fun Edible Fingerpaints are made with baby safe ingredients which are completely organic and non-toxic (VEGAN, no wheat, no sugar, no preservatives). Made from Organic Fruit & Vegetable powders, rice cereal and rice flour...these fingerpaints are literally safe enough to eat.

We were sent the Wee Can Too Edible Fingerpaints Tottle Set which includes 5 great colors...Purple/Blue with real blueberries, Red/Pink with real beets, Orange & Yellow with real pumpkin and green with real spinach!

The paints come in 6 oz. convenient tottle bottles which have powder in them. After reading the very simple instructions on the back of the bottle...the kids and I were ready to get started. We simply added water until the bottles were almost full, shook them and Viola! We were ready to create.

Having used these paints with both kids several times, I am happy to report that we love them!! It's the perfect way to let Kaelyn and Kaden enjoy art without me having to watch over their shoulders every second worrying.

Both kids love these safe fingerpaints. We have found that they're great for both fingerpainting (the kids love the texture and consistency) and painting with a brush. It's perfect for any type of activity we're doing. Best of all though, when Kaden decides to stick his hands in his mouth I don't have to stress, because these paints are made with things like beets and blueberries! If a child is old enough to eat table food, they can use these paints! Isn't that great?!

Since the fingerpaints are made with all food-based organic ingredients, once water has been added, the fingerpaints must be kept in the refrigerator and can last up to 30 days or more. It's actually been very convenient, as the kitchen is usually where we do our coloring, painting, etc. so I always have the paints nearby.

One other thing I wanted to mention...as someone who is very sensitive to/gets headaches from strong fragrance and scents, I was happy to find that these paints hardly have any smell at all. They are not harsh smelling like so many other paints for children and I am comforted knowing that we're not breathing in harmful fumes or chemicals.

Overall we've been thrilled with the Wee Can Too Edible Fingerpaints!! The kids absolutely love painting with them, and I love being able to relax and let them enjoy creating art while watching their creativity and imaginations soar! I really appreciate knowing that they're completely safe and edible. I plan to purchase more of the Edible Fingerpaints in the future, and will definitely be recommending them to other families with young children.

As I mentioned, the Edible Fingerpaints are just one of several natural and safe products offered at Wee Can Too. With summer here, I think the Edible Veggie Sidewalk Chalk would be something many families could enjoy, as well as the Edible Crayons for lots of coloring fun year-round!
